Fixing IT problems is the easy part. It's everything else that matters.
There's a common idea about IT support: something breaks, you call someone, they fix it, job done.
Fair enough, that's part of it. But if that's all we did, we wouldn't have lasted this long, and you probably wouldn't still be reading this.
What actually keeps our clients with us for years, not months, is something harder to put a number on: the team behind the fix.
One person can't do it all
In the early days at Satori Tech, a lot of the load sat with a handful of people, including our Managing Director Paul, doing everything from network cabling to answering the phone at 7am because someone's server had given up overnight.
It worked, for a while. But no one person has all the answers, and leaning on a single hero technician is a recipe for burnout on our side and dropped balls on yours.
So we built a proper team instead. People who know their way around a network. People who can explain a problem in plain English without making you feel silly for asking. People who spot a fix before it turns into a five-alarm fire. And people who care whether the fix actually holds, rather than papering over it until it breaks again next month.
Continuity beats cleverness
Here's something that doesn't get talked about enough in IT: how much it helps when the same people know your setup.
When someone from our team picks up the phone to you, they already know how your business runs, what your network looks like, and probably what mood your printer's been in lately. Less time explaining. Less time waiting. Fewer "let me just check with someone" moments.
That kind of continuity only comes from a team that sticks around, and ours has, for years in a lot of cases. That's not an accident. It comes from treating people well, trusting them to do their job properly, and giving them a reason to stay.
Technology changes. This bit doesn't
New tools, new platforms, another three-letter acronym to worry about, technology never sits still. But what actually makes the difference to your business isn't the tech stack. It's whether there are good people looking after it.
Most businesses we talk to don't want "IT support" as a concept. They want their systems to work, someone reliable to call when they don't, and honest advice when it counts, without the jargon and without the upsell.
That's what we've built our team around. Not perfect, we've made our share of mistakes along the way, but consistent, genuinely switched on, and in it for the long haul.
Want to meet the team?
If you're not sure whether your current IT setup has the right people behind it, that's exactly what our Free IT Audit & Coffee is for. No pressure, no jargon, just an honest look at what's working and what isn't.
